An insane day

Before i came to BITS i would never have dreamt of having a day like this...Always though i was a very ' sane ' person and liked to live a normal live.But 2 1/2 yrs hence , things have changed and so have i.This monday i returned from home and got really here bugged( bad food esp after eating at home).So the day passed as usual.The next day started unexpectedly with me waking up and attending 2 classes that too in the morning.So to make up i decided to bunk the afternoon classes.As i was whiling away my time in the afternoon playin carrom , crackin pjs etc etc , i remembered that Durgesh(my fellow infosys friend) must have returned( he too had gone home).So i met him and after 2 mins out of the blue he wanted to go go- karting...and i readily agreed as i generally have no specific work.It was a tough job lookin for people to go with...infosys people are really busy with their studies :P but we found 2 others lynus ( another infosys 9.8 pointer friend) and Punter(Abhishek).These unexpected people then agreed to come and we were on way at around 5 20.

So , we then took a bus to verna ( thats where the circuit is - or rather thats what we thought).The bus guy told us to get down at hyundai showroom as he reckoned it was close to the place we wanted to go.When we got down , we realised that this was nowhere close to where we wantd t go.We then got into the next bus and ended up sumwhere.So we called Pralav( local Goan in BITS) and described the place.We were apparently in titan and he told us to take the next bus to madgaon(wow! now thats where the karting circuit is....great).Then we reached the place...had to climb a hill to go to the circuit then raced around( for some reason jyaada feel nahin aayi this time).Anyway , we left from there at around 8 as punter wanted to go to vasco after karting....Well thats all about karting.We went for karting and that was probably the boring part of our trip :P
So we were waitin for a bus to get back and the bus never came till 9.I was trying my best to crack pjs to while away time but punter started to find 'logical' mistakes in my pjs, thats when i realised to shut my mouth.So we got a bus and as we were coming back...My friend durgesh suddenly came up with a pretty insane idea. The road from madgaon to our campus is pretty scenic.Especially where the road is along the sea( the road behind our campus).So Durgesh suddenly remembered a short cut from that road to MES junction.The road happened have no lights and was pretty secluded.He had come in Pralav's car through that route in broad daylight...and now he wanted to walk that route at night and the time being 9 25.He then asked me whether i was ready to be as insane as him.For some reason i agreed to be.We hardly considered the other 2 as we were sure they would not want to come.Anyway we asked them and they readily said 'N0'!Ob we thought...So as soon as we saw the path towards the left of the main road , we stopped the bus and got down.Just as we were turned to see whether the bus had left , WOW! lynus and Punter were standing staring at us!!?!?!

OK??What was that about??Punter got down as he for some reason thought that that was the MES stop and he forgot about vasco and lynus got down.Now I was apprehensive about walkin that road.For one , i could hardly see the road when i was standing right in front of it and another thing me and durgesh felt kind of responsible for the others.So we called pralav and he said it was around 1 hr walk from there.The clock said 9 35...hmm...interesting. We had to walk in a pitch dark road with forks??(Durgesh was quite sure there were no forks in that path but was it worth the risk?)which was supposed to end up at the MES junction , walk to campus after that....all this before 10 30 and make sure all 4 of us actually reach.Then we went uphill(yeah...the road was uphill too).5 mins into the adventure we could not see what or who was beside us.Me and durgesh were leading while lynus and punter followed us.They were just 5 -7 steps behind us but we would have had no idea whether they were they but for my phone.As we hd no idea how much more time this was goin to take , we decided to jog till we could.We jogged for around 5 mins when our tanks became empty.Still no signs of life, no signs of light.As we trodded along we a fork in the road..Thankfully it was a pretty obvious choice and we took the path we thought was right.Then i was met with a sight which i will never forget.We saw a house which was at a height of about 20 feet from the ground on a small hill , there was one tube light outside the house and the light from it was fallin on the road.That was the first signs of light we saw.Enjoying the darkness :P , we continued and the time approached 10 and we had no idea whether we were on the right track.Then , some houses started appearing,Durgesh then began to tell me that he did not remember seeing those buildings.Nice to hear i thought....but as his doubts we increasing we could see the highway about 200 metres away.We reached it and found that we were outside coros( wtf?? wasn't it supposed to be MES).Time : 10 05.Anyway , relieved that we were in a place which looked familiar , we started walkin back to our campus briskly and made it at 10 25.Extremely relieved and happy ( happy that we had an answer to one question : what was the most insane thing you have done in your college life??)we signed at the gate and suddenly realised that we were hungry....if u had realised , we did not eat anywhere.Monginis...but we were too tired to eat.Came back to our rooms and well....with mixed emotions were talkin about the trip.Lynus later told that the reason he came was that he could not have forgiven himself had something happened to me and durgesh.That was really nice of him to stick up for us.Punter likes a routine life and was pretty pissed with the whole episode and was happy to part ways with us at monginis....who wouldn't be?? :P

Later we realised that the reason we ended up at coros was because we missed a left turn somewhere.Thank god we ended up at coros atleast.There was just one way for everything to go right and thats what happened.Had we crossed the border of having fun??I guess not , as we ended up 5 minutes before time...:P

Anyway , this is one day i will never forget for a long time come and neither will the other three.
